It is a great pasta cooker and it is also a great steamer. The pan comes with two steamer inserts. It features 18/10 stainless steel construction with heavy duty handles riveted to eash side of the pan. The lid is glass with a riveted handle. The larger of the two inserts also has riveted handles on each side. The tri-ply bottom is designed for even heat distribution and is made from three layers of metal. The oustide layers are stainless steel with the inside layer being aluminum. The layers of metal are impact bonded to the bottom of the cooker. It is safe to be cleaner in the dishwasher.
